Hero grasping griffin and winged bull

Hero grasping griffin and winged bull
Kategória Cylinder Seals
Description of the seal image A bearded hero grasps a rampant griffin with one hand and a rampant winged bull with the other, each by a foreleg while making a stepping motion. He wears a headband and a long, triple-belted, tiered and fringed, open robe over a short tunic. His garment is decorated with a net or crosshatch pattern. The leg position of the hero indicates that the original idea was to depict him as stepping on a reclining animal or the hind legs of a rampant one.
